The Eighth International Conference on Machine Vision (ICMV 2015) was held 19–21 November 2015, in Barcelona, Spain. The conference was held successfully in Barcelona University, with great support from our Organizing committee member Prof. Petia. Delegates enjoyed the whole conference, also have a nice experience in the historic and beautiful campus. About 139 submissions were received. After several rounds review procedure, the program committee accepted 81 papers to be published in SPIE conference proceedings in vol. 9875. Acceptance Rate 58.27%. More than 87 participants from USA, Spain, German, Poland, Korea, China, Japna, Russia, etc from 11 countries attend the conference. Special appreciation extends to all the individulas who have contributed to ICMV 2015 conference in various ways. Special thanks extends to our colleagues in program committee for their thorough review of all the submissions, which is vital to the success of the conference, and also to the members in the organizing committee and the volunteers who had delicated their time and efforts in planning, promoting, organizing and helping the conference.

This conference program was highlighted by four Keynote Speakers: Prof. Antanas Verikas, from Halmstad University, Sweden; Prof. Petia Radeva, from University of Barcelona, Spain; and Prof. Dmitry Nikolaev, from Russia Academy of Science, Russia; Prof. Alexander Bernstein, from National Research University, Russia.
Then eight technical sessions were held. Discussed the latest research about topics Computer theory and application, Communication and information system, Computer theory and application, Feature extraction and image analysis, Image detection and pattern recognition, Image segmentation and computer vision, Image detection and pattern recognition, and Image processing and application technology.
